The project will seek to, firstly understand the extent to which heritage is inclusive or not, based on existing data on participation and engagement. Secondly, the project will seek to use case study evidence to develop best practice recommendations on how heritage can better contribute to inclusive social and economic outcomes for individuals and communities. The proposed research project is commissioned by Historic England as part of a wider partnership programme with the British Council.
