## Summary

The University of Chester is seeking suppliers to deliver a FIREX High-P 70L High Volume Industrial Kettle as part of the Innovation to Commercialisation Project, funded in part by the European Regional Development Fund. The procurement follows an open tender process, with key dates including the deadline for submissions on 3rd September 2018 and an award date of 12th September 2018. The contract period extends from 17th September 2018 to 31st October 2019. This tender falls under the industrial kitchen equipment category and is located in Chester, North West England.

This opportunity presents a chance for businesses that specialise in industrial kitchen equipment, particularly those with experience in the supply, installation, and commissioning of such machinery. Given the emphasis on cost-effective and reliable solutions, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that can provide tailored support and service could find this contract advantageous. With a budget of £70,000, suppliers are encouraged to submit their most competitive proposals, thereby fostering opportunities for business expansion in the food equipment sector.

## Notice

This is a confirmation of award following the below tender. As stated in the tender documentation, the final award of this tender and the production of a purchase order was dependent upon the approval from our ERDF funding body, UK Ministry for Homes, Community and Local Government (MHCLG). This approval was given on 10/09/2018. The original advert read as follows: The University of Chester seeks to procure, install, commission and support a FIREX High-P 70L high volume industrial kettle, identical to the unit previously installed under ERDF Ref X02658PR in the University's NoWFOOD Centre. Whilst there are technical reasons why the unit must be identical to that already supplied, this unit may be procured, installed, commissioned and supported by a range of organisations hence the tender seeks to find the best package for all these elements. The unit will be installed 'parallel' to the existing unit such that users of the NoWFOOD Food Innovation Centre can either use both units in parallel for identical food processing, or use the two units in different configurations or processes. The NoWFOOD Centre is a highly popular commercial resource for the University and as such, units must be reliable, robust and be extremely well maintained and supported. Please note that the I2C project has a limited budget within which it is endeavouring to source all its equipment and tenderers are therefore strongly encouraged to submit their most "cost effective" options that most closely meets at least the minimum specification as detailed within "Document 2 - Specification & Pricing Schedule". Tenders for pre-owned, ex-demonstrator or refurbished equipment will not be acceptable. The unit must be supplied, installed and commissioned in a time frame of less than 14 weeks after order. The tender supplied must detail an overall cost which includes (as well as the unit), installation, commissioning and 2 years full parts warranty and support for the unit. The I2C project is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Ref: 03R16P00976 Additional information: To participate in this opportunity tenderers were asked to Express an Interest via our In-Tend portal, they were then able to access the tender documents.
