In October 2003 the core buildings of the Campus were Grade II and Grade II* Listed and, in 2006 the ground breaking Conservation Development Strategy received formal support from the Norwich City Planning Committee. In 2012 the iconic Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts was also Grade II* Listed. As a single campus university with a student population in the region of 17,000, the Campus operates as an autonomous community.
