## Summary

The Ministry of Defence has completed a procurement process titled "Provision of Services to Support the Randomised Controlled Trial of Military Hip Rehabilitation Outcome (MILO)." This contract falls under the research services category, with a total value of £30,000. The procurement method used was a direct single tender action, which is below the threshold for competitive tendering. The award was made on 19th August 2019, with the contract period starting from 20th August 2019 and concluding on 31st October 2019. The project aimed to collect data comparing residential rehabilitation and conventional outpatient care for military personnel suffering from non-arthritic hip pain, with significant activities involving recruitment and data analysis support from a research assistant based in Lichfield, England, WS14 9PY.

This contract presents an opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as voluntary, community, and social enterprises, to engage with the Ministry of Defence in delivering research services. Businesses that specialise in recruitment, data collection, and analytical support services in the health or military sectors would be particularly well-suited to capitalise on similar future tenders. By partnering with institutions like the University of Bath, firms could enhance their exposure and credibility while contributing to important military health research initiatives.

This will be achieved by: a. Recruitment of Research Assistant to: i. support participant recruitment, screening and data collection (RA). ii. support database maintenance and subsequent data analyses (RA). b. Scientific scrutiny of the methods of data collection, analysis and interpretation by Principle Investigator.
