This project will deliver research and reporting, taking a selected sample group of 50 museums to produce robust data on the current condition of museums and issues affecting repair and maintenance of their historic estate. It will analyse the pressures, issues and challenges facing museums and draw statistically robust wider conclusions for museums in England. This is a partnership project for Historic England, Arts Council England, National Lottery Heritage Fund and DCMS.
