## Summary

The procurement process titled "Independent Advocacy - Integrated Project Partners: NHS Kernow, Adult Social Care, Isles of Scilly, Customer and Communities" is being conducted by Cornwall Council, situated in Truro, England. Currently in the planning stage, this initiative represents a significant opportunity within the health and social work services sector, classified under CPV code 85000000. A key event for potential suppliers is scheduled for Monday, 27 April, where businesses can engage with the project needs and wishes for future delivery. It is crucial to note that the engagement end date is 23 February 2018, which marks an important deadline for providers looking to participate in this process.

This tender offers substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in independent advocacy services, particularly those focusing on vulnerable populations such as children, young people, and adults with learning disabilities or physical disabilities. With an estimated business value of £1.5 million, organisations that can deliver flexible, responsive advocacy services are well-positioned to compete. The integrated project encourages attendance from potential advocacy providers for networking and collaboration, aiming to enhance service design and delivery by developing partnerships while retaining specialist skills.

## Notice

What is Cornwall's and the Isle of Scilly definition of independent advocacy? "Although many advocacy services are commissioned by public authorities they are required to function independently. Independent advocacy promotes the exploration of options and choices with vulnerable children, young people and adults by assisting them to understand the information that is available to them. It empowers those people to make sure that their views and wishes are heard and that they are treated fairly and equally. Independent advocacy helps in navigating public services and in accessing the right support to achieve greater independence and wellbeing". 2015 integrated project.
