Known as the Mayor's Innovation Challenge, this opportunity aims to drive a mission-led approach to innovation in West Yorkshire. The selected suppliers will support SMEs, entrepreneurs, and start-ups in developing solutions to local challenges, with additional funding available for winners. The procurement process is currently in the tender stage with a deadline for submissions on 29th February 2024. As part of this priority, the Mayoral Combined Authority is seeking to appoint an experienced provider or consortia to design, develop and deliver an innovation challenge competition across West Yorkshire. This should provide SMEs, entrepreneurs and/or start-ups with a real-world, West Yorkshire based challenge or problem and the task of developing a new product, service, or technology designed to address that problem through a programme of specifically targeted support, coaching and mentoring. The selected winners of the competition will receive additional funding to develop their solutions and / or business ideas further.
