## Summary

The Royal Medical Benevolent Fund, based in London, is seeking to commission a high-quality medical academic research project titled "Research into Unmet Need." This tender is classified under the health and social work services industry and is currently in the Tender stage. The deadline for submissions is set for 30 April 2020, and the anticipated contract period will commence on 1 September 2020, lasting until 1 September 2022. The procurement will follow a selective method, specifically a restricted procedure, with an available budget of £80,000.

This opportunity presents a significant avenue for businesses specialising in research and development services that are keen to contribute to the healthcare sector. Businesses that have experience in conducting comprehensive research studies, particularly those that engage with diverse populations and focus on healthcare disparities, would be well-suited to apply. Additionally, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are encouraged to participate in this tender, which aims to enhance the support extended to medical practitioners and their families facing financial challenges.

## Notice

The Royal Medical Benevolent Fund is the UK's leading charity helping doctors, medical students and their families at times of crisis. The RMBF is looking to commission a high quality medical academic research project to identify the extent of unmet need in medical practitioners, medical students and families who are in financial difficulty as a result of ill health, disability or bereavement. We would expect the research to cover a diverse population of the profession sampling our target beneficiaries across multiple areas including age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, disability, specialty, time from qualification and grades. We would also expect applicants and beneficiaries of the charity to be interviewed by agreement as part of the research. In addition to identifying the extent of unmet need, we would expect the researchers to identify organisational strategies for the RMBF to help us reach those potential beneficiaries who are not engaging with the charity and at the earliest opportunity.
