## Summary

The procurement process, initiated by NHS England, is aimed at sourcing a supplier for the project titled "Research with Patients, Carers and GP Practice Staff: Online and Video Consultations in Primary Care." This project falls within the health services industry category and is located in Leeds, England. The procurement method adopted is a limited competitive quotation, with a contract value of £149,000. The tender period closed on 2 September 2021, while the contract is scheduled to begin on 1 October 2021 and run until 12 August 2022. The award for this contract was made on 28 September 2021.

This tender presents significant opportunities for growth, particularly for small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) engaged in healthcare research and consultancy. Businesses that specialise in user experience research, patient engagement, or qualitative analysis will be well-positioned to compete for similar contracts, as the project seeks to leverage in-depth insights into online consultation systems. Engaging effectively with a diverse user panel and GP practice staff is crucial, making this an ideal occasion for organisations that excel in participatory research methodologies.

## Notice

The Authority is looking for a Supplier for the provision of research with patients, carers and GP Practice Staff to support NHSE/I's understanding of the real world use of online and video consultation systems in primary care. This is expected to be a 8-12 month programme of work, with a report delivered in 2022 ( by April 2022). The aim of this project is to understand user experiences (staff and patients) across a selection of GP online consultation platforms found in primary care in England. The project will contribute new knowledge about how patients and carers navigate online consultation platforms and digital pathways in general practice, including the remote interaction between the practice and the patient. The research will be based on proactive engagement with an inclusive user research panel, comprising a diverse sample of patients and carers, and engagement with GP practice staff to understand their perspectives and experiences. This project is expected to integrate qualitative usability testing (delivered by researchers at NHSE/I) and in-depth interview and public engagement methods to evaluate user experiences of online consultation platforms in primary care. Please be aware that a supplier is sought to undertake qualitative research and recruitment activities, not to undertake structured usability testing across different online consultation platforms.
