## Summary

The Mayor's Office for Police and Crime has completed a procurement process titled "VRU Hospital Based Youth Work," targeting the health and social work services sector in London, United Kingdom. The initiative sought to embed youth workers within five A&E departments across London hospitals to support young people exposed to violence or at risk of exploitation. The open procedure, above the threshold, concluded its tender submissions on 9th May 2023, with the contracting work starting on 1st October 2023 and concluding on 1st March 2027. The award status was updated on 4th June 2026, covering services under the CPV code 85000000.

This project presents significant growth opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) in the health and social work sectors. Suppliers like Catch 22 and St Giles Trust illustrate the potential for SMEs and VCSEs to thrive in providing integral community and statutory support services. Companies specialising in youth support, mental health, education, employment, and housing services are well-positioned to compete in similar tenders, as the procurement focuses on comprehensive support transitioning vulnerable youth into broader community-based solutions.
