The bridge is a single span road bridge carrying two lanes and two footways over the New River. The span is approximately 8m. The existing bridge deck is a composite construction of metal troughing and with an insitu concrete deck. The parapets are constructed purely in brickwork. It is proposed to replace the entire deck and parapets with new pre-stessed precast concrete beams with an insitu deck. The parapets will be constructed in brickwork with a reinforced insitu concrete core. It will be necessary to maintain at least a single flow of traffic and one footway for the duration of the works. It is envisaged that a temporary steel road bridge will be used to accommodate this need. The contractor will be responsible for all of the Traffic Management associated with this work. There will be a significant amount of services to be temporarily supported during the construction. Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement. 2. The Contracting Authority intends to conduct this procurement through the Delta eSourcing Portal. In order to participate in this process, economic operators will need to register on the e-portal and follow the instructions set out at the Delta eSourcing portal. 3. Economic operators are requested to submit any queries in relation to this project, the tender documents or this notice through the Delta eSourcing Portal. 4.
