Summary of Construction Phase key deliverables are as follows: The embankment in this location has been subject to geotechnical monitoring over recent years, due to the appearance of longitudinal cracking within the northbound carriageway surface. The visible cracking is the result of poor embankment material which has slowly subsided overtime. This scheme will install two rows of sheet piles, with approximately 170m being installed at the toe of the slope, and 130m being installed at the crest to stabile the embankment. In addition to geotechnical remediation measures, the northbound carriageway will be subject kerb line realignment and full depth reconstruction, covering areas showing the most significant cracking and subsidence. The footway within these extents will be reconstructed including some drainage works. Gloucestershire County Council are seeking a Principal Contractor to deliver the construction phase of this scheme.
