China's urban model is not currently developing in a way that will significantly reduce emissions, build resilience against climate change, benefit many of its citizens or effectively reduce the ever-widening inequality gap. A range of UK industries are acknowledged as global experts in the fields of sustainable urban development and climate action - ranging from infrastructure services, consultancies, construction, technology, standards, professional bodies, academia, demonstrators, financial services, and think tanks. By bringing the UK's experience and expertise to bear, HMG wishes to deliver analysis and solutions to retrofitting barriers in China, to support enhanced climate action and other global goods and achieve a positive global impact.
