These lifts are approximately 32 years old, originally fitted within the building during its construction 1988/89. These two passenger lifts move from ground floor, through first and stop at second floor of the building and usually have a manufacturer's weight limit of 8 persons or 630kg. Over the past four years, difficulties and entrapment incidents have occurred making the lifts unreliable.
