## Summary

The procurement process titled "21717 - Marine Transport Planning" is led by Plymouth City Council, targeting the industry category of transport systems consultancy services. This project aims to support the development of the UK's first National Marine Park and establish Plymouth's Freeport status through decarbonisation initiatives for the waterfront and related maritime operations. The tender was completed on 3rd February 2022, with an award date of 23rd February 2022 and a contract period extending from 24th March 2022 to 24th May 2022. The total value of the contract is £25,000.

This tender represents a valuable opportunity for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the consultancy sector, particularly those with expertise in transport systems and infrastructure works. Businesses capable of providing innovative solutions for low carbon marine passenger transport, including public ferry services and micro-mobility options, would be well-suited to engage with this procurement. As Plymouth City Council aims to enhance local maritime operations while promoting sustainability, providers with a focus on environmental strategies and transport efficiency may find significant growth opportunities within this initiative.

## Notice

Plymouth City Council are leading the development of the UK's first National Marine Park (www.plymouthsoundnationalmarinepark.com) and the formation of Plymouth's Freeport status. A key aspect to the development of these projects is decarbonisation of Plymouth waterfront, Plymouth Sound and associated maritime operations. The Council has received funding from the Community Renewal Fund to undertake a range of scoping and feasibility studies related to the decarbonisation of the waterfront area. Utilising this funding the Council has identified a need to develop a plan for low carbon marine passenger transport (public ferries, micro mobility) within the proposed national marine park (NMP).
