## Summary

The procurement process for the "Nailsea Outfall - Desk Based Feasibility Study" is being conducted by the Defra Network eTendering Portal, focusing on environmental monitoring services. Located in the South West of England, this project aims to assess the feasibility of a wetland system to improve water quality entering a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The award stage is currently active, with a contract value of £28,955, and the contract period is set to last from January 22, 2018, to March 31, 2018. Interested parties needed to submit tenders before the deadline of January 2, 2018.

This tender presents opportunities for businesses involved in environmental consultancy and research services, particularly those specialising in water management and pollution monitoring. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are particularly well-suited to compete, as the procurement initiative is designed to encourage diverse participation. Successful delivery of this study could lead to further contracts within the environmental sector, especially as new housing developments increase the demand for sustainable solutions to manage surface water runoff.

## Notice

To improve the quality of the water entering the SSSI from the urban area by: 1. Assessing the feasibility of a wetland system to treat the surface water run-off before it enters the SSSI. 2. To better understand the surface water flow paths within Nailsea to identify the locations for SUDs and constructed wetlands. 3. To provide multi-benefits such as amenity value for the local residents. 4. To provide a high quality ecological wetland resource. 5. To assess the impact of the proposed 5000+ new homes in the area on the surface water run-off.
