## Notice

Highways England is looking to set up a task, to: 1. Establish opportunities to develop the current version of MCH1529B - Guidance Notes for the Performance Assessment of Detector Technology/Systems for future deployment of emerging technologies, noting it was first written in 2011; 2. Review the existing scope and statement of requirements for each perceived application within the Highways England operations, such as Motorway Incident Detection and Automated Signalling (known as MIDAS from here on), Stopped Vehicle Detection (known as SVD from here on) and so on; 3. Develop the existing testing regimes which thoroughly examine the technology / systems and services in all aspects; 4. Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to collate an enhanced set of requirements and compile best practices from the last revision in 2011; 5. Acquire an understanding of the capabilities of current and emerging technologies, where they may undertake more than one function; 6. Establish what is required of the Highways England systems to integrate such functionality.
