## Summary

The Reading Borough Council is conducting an open tender for the project titled "Closing the Gap 2022 - 2025," aimed at providing preventative and support services. This initiative falls within the health and social work services sector and is set to address poverty, discrimination, and community wellbeing. The tender process, which is currently in the active stage, has a deadline for expressions of interest on 30th May 2022 at 11:00 AM. The contract is planned to commence on 3rd October 2022 and will run until 2nd October 2025, with an estimated value of £600,000 and a minimum value of £30,000. The delivery addresses associated with this procurement are located in Reading, Berkshire, in the South East region of the United Kingdom.

This procurement presents a significant opportunity for small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary and community sector organisations (VCSEs) that can offer innovative solutions to address social inequalities. By engaging with the Council’s outcomes-based approach, businesses that specialise in health, social care, and community development could play a crucial role in supplying services that enrich and empower disadvantaged groups. Interested suppliers should register through the Council's e-tendering portal to access detailed documents and ensure their submissions are considered reliably within the defined timeframe.

## Notice

Reading Borough Council, along with our partners from Berkshire West CCG, are completing an ITT exercise for the provision of Preventative and Support Services - a project as a whole known as Closing the Gap 2022-2025. Closing the Gap (CTG), which was previously commissioned under the Narrowing the Gap II framework, is an established programme within Reading for the commissioning of services to: tackle poverty, discrimination and disadvantage; promote wellbeing; and support thriving communities. CTG brings together funding from Public Health, Adult Social Care, Housing and Neighbourhoods and the Resources Directorate along with additional funding from the Clinical Commissioning Group to continue support for these causes and further the good work already undertaken to date. The commissioning of CTG services will allocate funding to target inequalities in the most disadvantaged groups and neighbourhoods using an outcomes-based approach. This approach seeks to empower the VCS to share their knowledge and expertise to define evidence-based solutions which will contribute to delivery of priorities defined by the Council alongside delivery of statutory health and social care provision. The aim is not only to fund proposals which will redress inequality but also to signal a changing relationship with the VCS, recognising the importance of enabling a thriving and self-reliant community. Suppliers that would like to take part in this process are invited to 'Express Interest' upon which they will be given access to the full documentation delivered through this portal. Documents can be accessed from the 'My Tenders' area of this website by selecting the 'View Details' button for the project. Expressions of interest will only be accepted until 30/05/2022 at 11am. Any questions relating to this opportunity should be made via the correspondence link on this portal.
