## Summary

The University of Southampton has awarded a 4-year contract to Diversity and Ability Ltd for the provision of Non-Medical Help (NMH) student support. The contract, valued at £359,532, started on 12 October 2024 and runs until 31 July 2028. The awarded contract covers services including mentoring for mental health and autism, specialist study skills support, and assistive technology training. These services are intended for students recommended by the University's Student Disability and Inclusion team and must meet the Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) provider criteria. This tender is part of the broader educational services industry, specifically focusing on special education services, adult education, and personal development training. The procurement process was managed through the In-Tend electronic tendering tool.

This contract provides substantial opportunities for businesses specializing in education services, particularly those experienced in providing NMH support. Smaller SMEs and organisations focusing on disability support, mental health mentoring, and assistive technology training are well-positioned to benefit from similar future tenders. By participating in such contracts, businesses can expand their market share and collaborate with a reputable institution like the University of Southampton, thereby enhancing their credibility and professional network within the educational sector. Additionally, aligning with the standards of DSA qualification criteria can pave the way for seamless integration with publicly funded initiatives.
