## Summary

The Cambridgeshire County Council has concluded the procurement process for the March Area Transport Survey (MATS) Phase 2A, focusing on construction work for Twenty Foot Road and St Peter's Road. The awarded contract, valued at £2,000,000, was facilitated through a call-off from the Eastern Highways Alliance Framework 4. This procurement falls under the construction industry category, specifically enhancing transportation infrastructure in the East of England, United Kingdom. The contract period commences on 9 February 2026 and runs until 8 February 2027. The procurement method was selective, ensuring targeted competition for this critical initiative addressing congestion and safety in the town of March, Fenland.

This tender could provide substantial opportunities for medium to large construction firms specialising in highway improvement works. Businesses with expertise in traffic junction redesign and signal upgrades would find this contract particularly relevant, given its focus on realigning roadways and enhancing junction safety via the introduction of traffic signals. While the contract is not tailored for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) or voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs), it presents a strategic opportunity for companies in alignment with the project scale and complexity. Engaging in such infrastructure projects can drive business growth through enhanced reputation and expanded operational scope within the public sector.

## Notice

The schemes are: Twenty Foot Road The realignment of Twenty Foot Road 25m north of its current intersection with the A141 to create a new junction enabling the introduction of traffic signals. St Peters Road Improvement to the signalised junction between St Peters Road and High Street including the insertion of a right turn lane on the High Street approaches to St Peter's Rd together with upgrades to the existing controlled crossings at and around the junction. This contract was called off the Eastern Highways Alliance Framework 4 via further competition.
