The project will help relieve congestion at Thickthorn junction by providing two new free-flowing slip roads that will connect the A47 with the A11. The new slip roads will re-route traffic away from the junction and flow it under new underpasses. The project has recently submitted a Development Consent Order to the Planning Inspectorate and the project is forecast to commence on site in early 2023 and will take around 2 years to complete. Package: Rigid Inclusion Ground Improvement Outline Scope of Works The Rigid Inclusion Ground Improvement Package consists of: To provide all necessary supervision, labour, plant and materials required to undertake the process of Contractor design and installation of the ground improvement (rigid inclusions) under the proposed Cantley Lane embankment and the S45 Footbridge western approach embankment. Principal Activities & Approximate Quantities Design 1no Supply, installation, operation and dismantling of plant and equipment for the installation of ground improvement 1no Programme It is currently anticipated that the works will commence in April 2022.
