## Summary

The London Borough of Barnet has awarded a contract for the construction of a new Waste Transfer Station (WTS), valued at £33 million. The procurement process, classified under CPV code 45232470 - Waste transfer station, was conducted using an open procedure. The contract period commenced on 15th December 2021 and will extend until 31st December 2025. Interested suppliers were invited to participate in the tender, with the work to be executed either on a site adjacent to Geron Way or an alternative location designated by the council. The decision on the site will depend on various assessments and planning permissions secured by the supplier.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for construction and engineering firms, particularly those with experience in designing and constructing waste management facilities. Businesses that specialise in collaborative working alongside public entities and have a proven track record in similar projects would be well-suited to engage in future tender processes related to this contract. Additionally, as this project is integral to local environmental management, companies focusing on sustainable practices may find tailored opportunities for growth in management and operational support services as the WTS project develops.
