## Summary

The procurement process involves Public Health England as the buying organisation for the contract titled "Provision of temporary biomedical, healthcare science support workers and general agency staff." This purchase falls under the healthcare services industry, primarily addressing the urgent staffing needs arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. The contract was initiated on 1 December 2019 and concluded on 31 March 2021, reflecting the emergency response measures taken during a Public Health Emergency. The procurement was conducted through a selective method as a call-off from a framework agreement, with a total value of £350,944.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses in the biomedical and healthcare staffing sectors. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with capabilities in providing temporary personnel for urgent healthcare needs would be well-positioned to compete, especially those experienced in rapid deployment of staff during public health emergencies. The reliance on agile and responsive staffing solutions in such a critical situation further underscores the potential for SMEs to engage with public health contracts and expand their market presence.
