## Summary

Birmingham City Council is seeking a supplier for a Planning Proposal Visualisation System through an open tender process. This procurement process started on 1 November 2017 and is currently in the award stage, having concluded on 31 October 2017. The contract, which falls under the software package and information systems industry category (CPV code: 48000000), is based in Birmingham, West Midlands, and will be active until 31 October 2020. Interested suppliers were required to submit their quotations by 12:00 GMT on 11 October 2017, using Birmingham City Council's e-tendering system, In-tend.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in software development and related services, particularly those specialising in 3D modelling and design visualisation. Companies with expertise in computer-aided design (CAD), software configuration, and system management would be well-suited to compete for this contract. By engaging in this procurement, providers can expand their market presence and offer innovative solutions to support Birmingham City Council's planning and development requirements.

## Notice

Birmingham City Council requires a supplier for the provision of hardware and software to be used for the visualisation of planning and development proposals. A requirement has been identified within Planning service for group and individual viewing of computer generated 3D models to support design, design review and consultation activities. It is proposed that 3D models of proposed buildings will be provided to the Council by architects or developers. Members of City Design Team will view and make any required amendments to the model. The model will then be viewed in a design room at Council offices using an active-shutter stereoscopic projector to facilitate discussions relating to the design. Models may also be viewed using a head-mounted display (HTC Vive) already belonging to the Council. Models will also be displayed at Planning Committee for councillors, using a larger stereoscopic projector. BCC will be using its e-tendering system (in-tend) for the administration of this procurement process and providers must register with the system to be able to express an interest. The web address is: https://in-tendhost.co.uk/birminghamcc Registration and use of In-tend is free. All correspondence for this procurement process must be via the In-tend correspondence function. If you are unable to register with In-tend please either email cps@birmingham.gov.uk or call 0121 464 8000. If you are interested in tendering please click on the following link to access Birmingham City Councils tender Portal: https://in-tendhost.co.uk/birminghamcc/ and submit your details to register as a bidder. We will send you a log on and password so you can download the quotation documentation. Requests to participate must be by way of completion and return of the quotation documentation no later than 12:00 hours (GMT) on 11th October 2017 using the Supplier Portal.
