The gallery's new narrative tells the story of Manchester as an epicentre of industry and explores the story of our complex relationship with engines. The Science Museum Group (SMG) are seeking to appoint an animator-illustrator to deliver a series of engaging, dynamic and peopled digital animations and graphic illustrations that will play a key role in the gallery experience. We require: - 6 short digital animations (3 x touchscreen/interactive and 3 x video only). - 37 graphic illustrations / icons. The digital animations will help enliven the gallery and enable us to visually explain the key science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) principles that underpin how our engines work. Five of the digital animations will be stand-alone experiences and one will be part of a physical interactive. The graphic illustrations will support visitors to use the interactives, engage with the objects on gallery and make links to everyday, relatable objects or scenarios.
