## Summary

The Department for International Development (DFID) has awarded a contract titled "DFID 8516 Stopping Abuse and Female Exploitation (SAFE) Programme - Zimbabwe" following an open procurement process. The contract, which has a total value of approximately £6,960,000, focuses on providing services to prevent and respond to violence against women and girls in Zimbabwe. The procurement process has reached the award stage, with the contract period starting on 11 October 2019 and extending until 10 October 2023. The relevant industry category is classified under foreign economic aid-related services, and the contract addresses various logistical delivery locations across several territories, including the United Kingdom and other countries.

This contract presents significant opportunities for businesses engaged in social services, particularly those specialising in violence prevention, community education, and support for vulnerable populations. Organizations that have expertise in delivering training, conducting evaluations, or providing advisory services related to sexual and reproductive health could be well-suited to compete in future tenders related to this project. Additionally, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are encouraged to participate, particularly if they can demonstrate innovative approaches to service delivery and impact measurement in the social sector.

## Notice

The overall programme's purpose is to: a. Prevent violence by changing harmful attitudes and behaviours towards women and girls, providing life skills training to confront abuse, providing advisory services to inform about sexual and reproductive health and rights; providing community education and training on violence prevention and response; and providing parenting support on non-violent disciplining techniques. b. Respond to violence by increasing service uptake by survivors, strengthening community justice structures, providing rehabilitation and reintegration services for victims, and providing relationship counselling to victims of child marriage and domestic abuse. c. Increase the availability and use of evidence to better reach the most vulnerable people in Zimbabwe by conducting an evaluation of violence prevention and response activities to optimise activities' cost-effectiveness, commissioning demand-led research on child marriage, modern slavery and other topics with limited data, and delivering capacity building activities to improve data use of implementing partners. The evaluation and learning component of the SAFE programme will be separately procured under a DFID framework agreement (GEFA) to ensure independence impartiality from the GBV component.
