## Summary

The University of Manchester is seeking to procure a Fast-Scan High-Resolution Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) for nanoscale dielectric microscopy, with a tender period ending on 27th March 2020. The contract is classified under the industry category of scanning probe microscopes, and the equipment will be located at the University of Manchester, postcode M13 9PL. This open procurement, which is above threshold, is an accelerated procedure aimed at securing innovative solutions to effectively probe dielectric, structural, and mechanical properties at an atomic level. The contract period is set to commence on 1st April 2020 and will run until 29th May 2020.

This tender presents a substantial opportunity for businesses specialising in advanced scientific equipment, specifically those with expertise in microscopy technology or related fields. Companies capable of providing cutting-edge solutions that can operate in diverse environments, such as air, liquid, and gas, while maintaining high-resolution imaging capabilities, would be well-suited to compete for this contract. The development of customisable systems for advanced experiments could further enhance a bid, thereby facilitating business growth through the establishment of long-term partnerships with a leading academic institution.

## Notice

The University wishes to appoint a Contractor or Contractor's to supply a fast-scan high-resolution atomic force microscope (AFM) to do nanoscale dielectric microscopy. The microscope should be able to probe the dielectric properties as well as structural and mechanical properties of the sample with true atomic resolution and high-speed capabilities upgradable to video-rate imaging. It needs to be capable to provide quantitative dielectric maps at the nanoscale in a wide frequency bandwidth (at least up to MHz range) with the ability to customize the system for more advanced experiments. It needs to be capable to work in multiple environments - air, liquid and gas - in an environmental cell with liquid/gas exchange, with minimum noise and thermal drift to allow stable and quantitative measurements over time at high resolution. The equipment will be located at the University of Manchester.
