## Summary

The MHRA Buyer Organisation is seeking a supplier for a gel camera system through a planned tender process. This procurement falls under the laboratory and medical equipment industry, specifically focusing on image intensifiers. The procurement is currently in the planning stage, with an engagement end date set for 2nd August 2019. Interested suppliers are encouraged to register their interest by providing a range of prices for their equipment by this deadline, which will be used for fund approval purposes.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in laboratory equipment, medical imaging systems, and related technologies. Companies that manufacture or supply sophisticated imaging systems with features such as WiFi connectivity and transilluminators for UV wavelengths will be particularly well-suited to compete for this contract. Additionally, SMEs in the relevant sectors may find this an advantageous opportunity to establish a foothold within the public procurement landscape, especially considering the potential for subsequent competition among interested suppliers.

## Notice

Agency require a gel camera system for the safe imaging of gels with UV and white light. Images should be transferable via WiFi, &/or ethernet, &/or USB port. The system should feature a transilluminator capable of both ~302nm and 365nm UV wavelengths and handling both ethidium bromide and SYBR green-stained gels. Systems with software for assessing band size and/or intensity would be preferred. If you can provide a system that meets these requirements, please email to Nawaz Habib (nawaz.habib@nibsc.org) to register an interest. Please also indicate a list price range for the system(s) that you think will meet the specifications. This information will ONLY be used to seek fund approval and will not be associated to a particular supplier. We will only use the ranges given. If no submissions (by close of play 02/08/2019) of potential interest are received, it is then intended to perform a direct award without competition to the supplier we believe can provide these specifications. At this time we would seek a formal quotation from the supplier to include any discounts, maintenance and/or any bespoke consumables (if applicable). Otherwise, if more than once supplier registers interest, there would be further competition subject to fund approval.
