This will in turn equip FSA with the required knowledge to respond to enquiries and incidents involving allergens in novel foods containing alternative proteins, which could increase as these products grow in popularity. The outcome of the review will also be of use to Public Analysts and Official Laboratories and could form the basis of future knowledge transfer and training activities to improve capability in this area.
