For the purposes of this opportunity the definition of childcare is that which is specified in the Childcare Act 2006. 'The provision of paid for childcare services by a private, voluntary or independent body or individual to a parent or carer for the daily care of their child from the ages of 6 weeks- 14 yrs or through funded government places for eligible children i.e. 2, 3 and 4 yr olds whilst they work or undertake training'.
