## Summary

The Ministry of Defence is currently in the planning stage of a public procurement process titled "MOD Cloud Hosting S (Private Cloud)." This initiative is part of the Defence Digital ASDT Project EMPORIUM, which aims to develop a cloud-like capability for hosting higher-tier classified services. An early market engagement (EME) event will take place virtually on 29 April 2021, from 10:00 to 12:00, through Microsoft Teams. Interested suppliers are encouraged to engage before the deadline for questions related to the request for information (RFI), which will be issued by 13:00 on the same day, with responses due by 12:00 on 14 May 2021. The procurement process will focus on network servers and associated technical support services.

This procurement opportunity presents a valuable avenue for growth for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) specialising in technology solutions, particularly those experienced in providing cloud services, network servers, and technical computer support. Participating businesses can leverage this early engagement to showcase innovative solutions that comply with the Ministry of Defence’s requirements. The collaborative approach invited by the EME event allows firms to offer alternative strategies, thus increasing their chances of successfully competing in the subsequent procurement phases.

## Notice

The Authority's Defence Digital ASDT Project EMPORIUM is looking to deliver a Cloud-like capability suitable for hosting services that have a caveat of a higher tier classification (above OFFICIAL). The project has recently produced several Courses of Actions (COAs) and will present within an Early Market Engagement event (EME) to seek advice and guidance from Industry for options to satisfy the subsequent procurement. The COAs are not exhaustive, and Industry are encouraged to suggest alternative approaches that may meet the requirements of the Authority. The EME event will be a virtual event and will be held on 29 Apr 21 (from 1000 to 1200), through Microsoft Teams, supported by TechUK, and will be held at OFFICIAL. To book your place please follow the link below https://www.techuk.org/what-we-deliver/events/project-emporium-industry-day.html In addition to the EME event a Request for Information (RFI) to pose questions regarding delivery of the requirement will be issued to all invited suppliers. It will be issued by 1300 on 29 Apr 21 and responses are requested by 1200 on 14 May 21. Any response provided is voluntary and does not start the official procurement process for delivering a Cloud-like capability. The information provided in response to this request may be used to inform the options for conducting a possible subsequent competition. The provided information will not be used in the assessment of any proposal from industry. It should be noted that all responses released in relation to the RFI is released on a subject to contract basis, is subject to change and does not signal the start of a formal procurement process.
