This initiative aims to review and enhance healthcare provision for residents in care homes across the Yorkshire and the Humber region. The engagement end date for interested providers is set for 23rd February 2018. Stakeholders are encouraged to express their interest by providing relevant experience and organisational details to Brenda Powell via email by 20th October 2017, at 5pm. This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses in the health and social work services sector, particularly those specialising in telemedicine and technology solutions for clinical services. Companies that can offer 24/7 clinical consultation services via secure video links, along with managed technical services and equipment, would be well-suited to compete. The successful provider may also have the potential to transition into an Accountable Care Organisation model as part of the ongoing integration of health services within care homes. ## Notice Greater Huddersfield & North Kirklees Clinical Commissioning Groups (the CCGs) are in the process of reviewing how health services are provided to people living in a Residential / Care home in Kirklees. In line with the NHS Five Year Forward View, both CCGs are very keen to maximise the use of technology and telemedicine in service delivery to improve access for patients, and help manage demand effectively and efficiently. This is a Market Testing exercise relating to the provision of a technology assisted, rapid access service offering an alternative to hospital based A&E services for people residing in a Residential / Care home. We are looking for a service that will offer: A 24/7 clinical tele-consultation service delivered via secure video link into our residential / nursing homes, that is utilized instead of patients having to be taken to the local A&E department. A service that provides clinical consultation not a logarithm based approach like 111. A fully managed technical service utilizing bespoke laptops with HD cameras and with 4G SIM or Broadband. Service Benefits/outcomes: Enables residents to remain in their care home. Supports safe, effective high standards of care. Supports care/nursing staff and residents in the planning and delivery of care. Reduces inappropriate demand on GPs, Ambulance and Non elective care. Effective, informed and trusted onward referral. Full electronic recording and messaging between the service and the Patient's GP. Clear governance and accountability. Greater Huddersfield & North Kirklees CCGs are currently exploring the merits of commissioning an Accountable Care Organisation (ACO) model to provide all health care into our care homes. To this end, it is possible that any contract awarded to a Telemedicine provider between now and then will ultimately transfer across to the ACO. Additional information: Potential providers wishing to express an interest in participating in this market test and any future tender process are asked to provide the following information: 1 Provide details of any experience you have in delivering/managing similar services. 2 Provide your current organisation details (including legal entity) to brenda.powell@greaterhuddersfieldccg.nhs.uk by no later than 5pm on 20th October 2017. Please note that an expression of interest is not a tender response. An expression of interest is not an indication of a commitment to participate in the tender process nor does it infer any special status on those providers who do submit an interest. The market response to this market test will be used to inform the Commissioner's view as to any future process to select the most suitable provider to meet its commissioning intentions.
