The Authority has been successful with a National Highways Designated Funds bid to deliver a range of public realm improvements in key locations across the city centre. The Authority has allocated further funding to the project from its capital programme, and the scale (value) of the whole project is circa PS5.42m. A phased delivery is envisaged over a 2-3 -year period. The Authority is now seeking Multi-Disciplinary Design Team ("MDT") Consultancy from suppliers that can provide a full design service, incorporating highway civils, structural, M & E, landscaping, wayfinding, surveying, and NEC contract administration, to reinvigorate the public realm in 3 locations adjacent to historic docks and within the Old Town Conservation area, including Princes Dock Street, Humber Dock Street and part of High Street. The MDT should be led by an Accredited Landscape Architect, Urban Designer or Streetscape specialist, with relevant experience in the design of high quality, multi-functional public spaces. Heritage expertise is also essential to ensure that the design respects and responds to the historic environment as well as providing opportunities for storytelling and public art.
