## Summary

The Ministry of Defence has awarded a contract for the provision of technical services to support the Medical Information System (MedIS) programme. This initiative aims to establish a comprehensive and integrated digital ecosystem that will enhance the Defence Medical Services' capability to deliver healthcare. Eviden Technology Services Limited, a large supplier, has been appointed to provide software integration consultancy services under a call-off from a framework agreement. The procurement process concluded with the contract being awarded on 5th February 2026, and it will run until 30th September 2026. The services required fall within the Digital and IT Professional Services industry, with a focus on software integration consultancy, located in England, specifically postal code SN13 9GB. The procurement method was selective, using the Digital and IT Professional Services Framework (Agreement RM6249).

This contract presents significant opportunities for businesses experienced in digital healthcare solutions and software integration, particularly those with the capability to operate at a scale required by the Ministry of Defence. Organisations that specialise in designing, integrating, and securing complex digital ecosystems for medical information systems will find this tender aligns with their expertise. With a substantial value of £14,972,940, this contract not only offers financial incentives but also provides a platform to demonstrate expertise in interoperability with MOD and NHS systems. While it is not specifically suitable for SMEs or VCSEs, larger organisations with specialised skills in the defence and healthcare technology sectors will be well-positioned to compete and grow through participation in similar future tenders.

## Notice

The MedIS Programme aims to deliver a sustainable and integrated digital information capability that supports the Defence Medical Services (DMS) in providing evidence based medical and dental healthcare. To achieve this, MedIS will establish a digital 'ecosystem' built from multiple commercial off the shelf (COTS) products and services. To ensure this ecosystem is clinically safe, secure, and fully interoperable with MOD systems, NHS systems, legacy platforms, and other related environments, the programme requires additional specialist expertise. This capability is procured via Digital and IT Professional Services (DIPS) Framework (Agreement RM6249) . The services required include: * Provision of suitably qualified support for design, integration, and delivery of the MedIS digital ecosystem. * Expertise to ensure interoperability and safe sharing of medical information across Defence, NHS, and legacy environments. * Support to secure the ecosystem and ensure clinical safety throughout development and deployment. * Support to realise programme benefits by contributing to a coherent, enduring, and sustainable MedIS capability.
