The service has three equally important elements: 1. Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVA) (this includes a specific Teen Advocate): The aim of this part of the service is to provide comprehensively trained and accredited specialists who will work with survivors (aged 13+). The focus of the support will be to improve their safety. 2. Independent Living Support element: The aim of this part of the service is to provide outreach and resettlement support to survivors of DSVA. Women who have installed a Sanctuary Scheme (security system) will be prioritised. 3. Stronger Families programme: The aim of this part of the service is to provide a support programme for mothers and children (16 or under) who have experienced DSVA. The focus will be to support them to build up their resilience and self-esteem, develop safety strategies and where appropriate help mothers and children rebuild their relationship.
