## Summary

The procurement process for the "Supply of Microsoft Licensing" was initiated by Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole Council, which operates out of Bournemouth, United Kingdom. This tender falls within the software package and information systems category and was awarded through the KCS Professional Services Framework. The tender period ended on 10th March 2021, with the award made on 11th March 2021. The total contract value is up to £18 million, covering a three-year contract period that starts on 1st April 2021 and concludes on 31st March 2024.

This opportunity can significantly benefit small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that provide software solutions, especially those experienced in managing Microsoft licensing products. Companies that excel in cloud technologies, server management, and have existing expertise with Microsoft's licensing structures would be particularly well-suited to engage in future contracts related to this framework. With a current spend of £2.9 million per year, there is potential for growth as the demand for Microsoft licensing is expected to increase throughout the contract duration.

## Notice

The supply of Microsoft Licensing covers off three elements of licensing from Microsoft. These are Microsoft Enterprise Agreement (EA), Server and Cloud Enrolment and Cloud Solution Provider. The Microsoft Enterprise Agreement (EA) offers the best value to organisations with 500 or more users or devices that want a manageable volume licensing program that gives them the flexibility to buy cloud services and software licenses under one agreement. The Server and Cloud Enrollment (SCE) is an enrollment under the Microsoft Enterprise Agreement that allows committed customers to standardize broadly on one or more key Server and Cloud technologies from Microsoft. A Microsoft EA must be in place to take out a SCE agreement. The Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider Program (CSP) enables partners to directly manage their entire Microsoft cloud customer lifecycle. Additional information: Awarded through the KCS Professional Services Framework - Software Products and Associated Services 2 (Y20011) - OJEU Reference 2019/S 209-509650 - under a Direct Award. The value of the contract has been set at up to PS6 million per annum (PS18 million total contract value). This is an estimated value based on a potential increase in spend on Microsoft Licensing during the term of the agreement. The current spend per annum (2020/2021) for the Supply of Microsoft Licensing is PS2.9 million.
