The docks use a USB-C connection so having a USB-C connection that carries network, power, and display on the laptop is essential. We also utilise Microsoft Autopilot so would be looking to have the new devices enrolled in Autopilot either by the manufacturer or be supplied with the appropriately formatted txt files to import them ourselves.
