## Summary

Health Innovation North East and North Cumbria (HI NENC) is in the planning stage of a procurement process for the development of two cyber security ALPHA modules. This initiative, titled "Development of two cyber security ALPHA modules for HI NENC," falls under the software package and information systems industry category and is primarily focused on the United Kingdom. Key engagement activities are scheduled to conclude by 6 January 2025. The process will proceed through a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) under Lots 3 and 5. This PIN aims to inform potential research and academic organisations of the forthcoming opportunity, although formal competition details remain subject to change.

This tender provides a lucrative opportunity for businesses proficient in developing gaming software and conducting research and evaluation within the cyber security space. It is particularly suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with a background in IT services, software development, or research consultancy. Successful bidders will support the health and care sector by creating engaging training modules to bolster cyber resilience among senior leaders in adult social care organisations. Engaging in this tender process can significantly enhance a company's portfolio, demonstrate expertise in a high-demand area, and foster long-term partnerships within the health sector. Interested suppliers are advised to apply promptly to the DPS to participate in the upcoming competition.

## Notice

The purpose of this PIN is to inform prospective research and/or academic organisations of an opportunity to develop and carry out a research evaluation on a scenario based modular cyber security exercise. On behalf of NHSE, HI NENC wishes to engage a research and/or academic organisation with proven experience in developing gaming software to create two ALPHA scenario models. We are seeking two cyber security ALPHA products with scope to develop future modules. We also require research and evaluation of the effectiveness of the products to be provided. Primarily the users are defined as senior leaders within adult social care organisations. The current prevalence of cyber-attacks and especially ransomware attacks is significantly increasing business risk across the health and care sector. Due to a range of structural, financial and operational challenges the digital maturity and resilience of social care organisations is variable. Humans are the primary attack targets of organisations and this product seeks to improve their preparedness by defending as one. Health data is a valuable commodity and these modules will endeavour to safeguard it. The gamification provides an accessible learning experience in a complex and stressful space. This will be achieved through engaging across the spectrum of learning types (visual, read/write, auditory and kinaesthetic learning with particular emphasis on the later). Additional information: HI NENC would like to invite potential providers of these services to apply to our Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) DN670401 as a supplier. You can do this by following this link: procontract.due-north.com/ProjectManagement/ProjectDashboard?projectId=c1881153-e6f3-ed11-8122-005056b64545 This opportunity will be developed as a further competition under Lots 3 and 5 of our DPS. You should therefore ensure you apply to either Lot 3 or 5 depending on your company core business to be able to bid to provide this service. You are also welcome to apply for any other Lots on our DPS that you feel are relevant to your organisation. If your company is not registered with the Proactis (ProContract) Due North Portal, click on this link Supplier registration (due-north.com) and complete your organisation name and email address and continue your registration. We are expecting to put out the Invitation to Quote to our Lot 3 and 5 suppliers at the beginning of January 2025. This timeline is subject to change.
