## Summary

Birmingham City Council is undertaking a public procurement process to appoint a development partner for the implementation of a city-wide Electric Vehicle (EV) network, particularly focusing on a sustainable model to enhance the city's charging infrastructure. This contract, classified under 'Electric vehicles' in the services category, commenced in October 2018 and is set to last for seven years, with an option for a three-year extension based on performance. The procurement method followed is an open procedure, with the selection questionnaire submission deadline having been set for 28th March 2018.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses within the engineering, infrastructure development, and electric vehicle sectors who are well-equipped to support the delivery of an expansive EV charging network. Companies experienced in delivering sustainable transportation solutions and those with capabilities in civil engineering or electrical installations would be particularly well-suited to compete. Engaging in this contract would not only contribute to fulfilling local government sustainability goals but also pave the way for future projects as Birmingham seeks to improve air quality and promote ultra-low and zero-emission transport solutions.
