## Summary

Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire County Council are actively seeking proposals for the provision of a Children and Young People's Advocacy and Befriending (Independent Visitor) Service. Targeting the health and social work services category, this service aims to provide advocacy and support for children in care, children in need, those under Child Protection plans, homeless youth, and care leavers. The procurement is in the tender stage, having been published on 16 October 2024, with applications due by 12:00 PM on 20 November 2024. The contract is valued at an estimated maximum of £1,793,000 over five years, with an anticipated start date of 1 April 2025. This contract will be awarded using an open procurement method under the Light Touch Regime as per the Public Contract Regulations 2015.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those with expertise in social care and advocacy services. SMEs and VCSEs are especially encouraged to apply, making this a valuable prospect for smaller and volunteering community-based enterprises looking to expand. By participating, businesses can establish long-term governmental partnerships, benefit from stable funding, and contribute to the welfare of vulnerable groups in Nottinghamshire. The joint approach by the councils to leverage resources and secure best value underscores the potential for enhanced service provision, depending on future funding availability.
