Defra is interested in exploring the potential to create a blended, impact finance model which could: - Crowd-in additional private investment in natural capital protection and enhancement. - Provide capacity building support / technical assistance to projects that would have environmental impact and generate revenue - to stimulate a pipeline of such projects. - Provide below-market-rate and/or patient repayable finance for project implementation costs. - Help to further prove the concept and develop a track record of projects that can generate revenue through improving the natural environment.
