## Summary

Espo, a Central Purchasing Body based in Leicester, England, has announced the award of a national framework contract for the provision of outdoor playground, fitness and sports facilities and equipment. The contract covers design, supply, delivery, installation, maintenance, and inspection services for diverse facilities such as outdoor playground equipment, skate/BMX parks, multi-use games areas, sport and play surfaces, and water parks. The procurement process was initiated through an open procedure, with the contract period spanning from 1st June 2025 to 31st May 2027. The framework has the potential for extension by up to 24 months, and delivery is to be made across the United Kingdom. The contract caters to public bodies, including local authorities, educational establishments, and emergency services, among others. The estimated value of the contract is GBP 140 million.

This tender presents an attractive opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) aiming to expand their portfolio within the public sector domain. Businesses with expertise in design and construction of sports and recreational facilities, as well as those providing innovative solutions for playground equipment and landscaping services, are well-positioned to compete for such comprehensive and multifaceted framework agreements. Lightmain Company Limited, Maverick Industries Limited, and Creative Play (UK) Limited are among the awarded suppliers, indicating that companies with specialised skills in sports surface installation and playground design can find profitable prospects under this framework.

Accordingly, this is provided for bidders information only. An eAuction process may be used to award subsequent call off contracts following the reopening of competition among the parties to the Framework Agreement.
