## Summary

The procurement process involves the Defra Network eTendering Portal, which is located in London, England. The titled project is the "Joint Knowledge Transfer Framework for Food Standards and Food Safety Analysis," falling under the laboratory services industry category. This procurement is currently in the Award stage, with the contract valued at £45,000. The contract period spans from October 1, 2017, to March 31, 2020, and the tender period ended on September 1, 2017. This is a limited procurement method, which means the contract was awarded without prior publication of a contract notice.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in laboratory services and research and development, particularly those that can provide analytical tools and best practices to support food law enforcement. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are particularly encouraged to participate, as the procurement is suitable for them. Successful bidders could enhance their reputation and expand their business reach by engaging with government priorities aimed at ensuring food authenticity, safety, and hygiene.

## Notice

It is a joint KT programme funded in partnership between the Authority, Food Standards Agency (FSA), Food Standards Scotland (FSS) and Government Chemist (GC) (collectively the Funders). This new framework will provide a more sustainable, cost-effective programme of KT on analytical tools and best practice to support food law enforcement for ensuring food authenticity, safety, hygiene and quality. This will support government priorities to ensure consumer protection and trust in our food and where it comes from and facilitate rapid response by Food Authorities to emerging food incidents.
