## Summary

The Energy Systems Catapult is currently seeking tenders for the project titled "ESC19113 - The Smart Systems and Heat Programme - Living Lab." This procurement falls under the services category, specifically focusing on repair and maintenance services and building installation work. The process is at the tender stage, with the tender period set to close on 28th June 2019. The contract is expected to start on 28th July 2019 and last for up to three years, depending on funding and research requirements. This tender offers significant opportunities for growth, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) involved in maintenance and installation services. Companies specialising in energy systems, heating technologies, and home improvement will find this opportunity well-suited to their capabilities. The ongoing nature of the project, with installations and maintenance expected for multiple years, provides a stable platform for businesses to establish long-term relationships with the contracting authority while contributing to advancements in smart heating solutions.

## Notice

As part of SSH2 ongoing study, the ESC created a "Living Lab" by extending the trials with previous participants and sourcing new participants where the HESG system was installed and in a small number of suitable properties, Air Sources Heat Pumps were also installed alongside the existing gas boiler to create a hybrid heating system. We are seeking to install additional homes within the Living Lab this year (as listed above) and are seeking a framework for future years installations and ongoing maintenance and support. All of the homes in the Living Lab will require ongoing maintenance and breakdown support for the coming year and future years. It is envisaged that the Living Lab will run for an initial period of 38 weeks, up to 3 years (subject to funding), and possibly longer depending on the nature and type of research that may be undertaken in the future.
