## Summary

Keele University has recently completed the procurement process for a project titled "Network Access Control Solution," valued at approximately £47,947.80. This initiative falls under the software package and information systems industry category and is located in Keele, Staffordshire, within the West Midlands region of the United Kingdom. The procurement followed an open procedure, having concluded on 21 April 2020, with the contract awarded to Qolcom Ltd on 29 April 2020. The contract period runs from 11 May 2020 to 29 May 2020, with the aim of enhancing both visitor access to the network and supporting segmentation for commercial tenants through additional network equipment.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) specialising in network solutions, hardware installation, and network system integration. Companies with expertise in network cabling, network components, and related services will find this project aligns well with their capabilities. Furthermore, given that the contract required a single supplier to coordinate the entire scope of work, businesses that can offer comprehensive solutions covering supply, installation, and support are well-positioned to compete for similar contracts in the future.

## Notice

This tender is for the supply, installation and support of a Network Access Control solution to complement our current network. Our current wireless manufacture is HPE Aruba, and consists of two wireless controllers (Aruba7240XM) and two Mobility masters (ArubaMM-HW-5K) running version 8.5.0.5. Our current wired network provider is Cisco. This additional equipment needs to address two main areas, improving visitor access to our network and to support segmentation of commercial tenants connected via wired and wireless. The Smart Innovation Hub is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds England Growth Programme 2014-2020, Staffordshire County Council, Stoke-on-Trent & Staffordshire Enterprise Partnership, the University of Keele and the Midlands Engine Single Growth Fund. The Network Access Control Solution for the Denise Coates Foundation Building (Smart Innovation Hub) is also part funded by ERDF. Given the need for one supplier to co-ordinate delivery of all goods and installation required , the contract has not been divided into lots. The estimated budget is PS47,947.80 excluding VAT.
