## Summary

The Humber NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to enhance support for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis through the "Crisis Pad" service, operating as part of its new Rapid Response Service. This service will provide a calm environment for emotional and practical support during critical hours of 8 PM to 2 AM, aimed at reducing hospital admissions. The procurement process has transitioned to the Award stage, with the contract value estimated between £100,000 and £120,000 per annum for a term of one year, with the potential for extension. Interested businesses should note that the deadline for expressing interest in this tender was on 23 November 2016, and the contract starts on 1 April 2017.

This opportunity presents a valuable avenue for growth, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) skilled in mental health support services. Businesses that specialise in providing mental health care, training staff for crisis intervention, or those capable of providing on-site support in the Hull and East Riding area would be well-suited to compete for this contract. The initiative supports the objectives of enhanced care and intervention outside of standard working hours, making it an appealing prospect for those who can align with the Trust's goals.

## Notice

The Trust is looking to enhance support for people experiencing a mental health crisis or distress through the development of its new Rapid Response Service (formerly known as Crisis Resolution & Home Treatment). An important element of this is the provision of a new "crisis pad". The service will offer people experiencing crisis or distress access to a calm, safe, environment providing emotional and practical support/therapeutic interventions and where necessary, rapid access to a suitably qualified practitioner who can assess their needs. The service will operate outside of normal work hours. Aim: To improve support for people experiencing a mental health crisis out of usual working hours To support crisis resolution through brief treatment interventions and techniques that will deliver self-care To reduce the number of hospital admissions due to the lack of alternative support out of hours. This will be achieved by: Providing a facility to operate a twilight service between the hours of 2000 and 0200. Supporting the service with access to appropriately qualified staff who can effectively triage and signpost people/carers to the scheme through the Rapid Response Service. Implement skills/competency based training and support to volunteers and staff involved in delivering the service. The successful organisation will provide support to people experiencing a mental health crisis or distress through support staff and possibly volunteers. They will be supported by the Rapid Response Service (RRS) where required and appropriate. All referrals will be triaged through the RRS. The crisis pad physical facility will likely be provided by the Trust; the location has yet to be identified. It will be open to people in the Hull & East Riding area.
