## Summary

The National Museum of the Royal Navy (NMRN) has initiated a procurement process for the maintenance and support of the HMS Victory Support System. This contract falls under the industry category of "Repair and maintenance services" (CPV code 50000000) and is part of the HMS Victory Conservation Project, aimed at preserving the ship for the next 50 years. Located in Portsmouth (postal code PO1 3NH), the contract will ensure ongoing structural stability provided by 134 bespoke hydraulic props. The procurement followed an open procedure and is now in the award stage, with the contract awarded to EnerMech Limited. Key dates include the publication date of 4th December 2023, end of the tender period on 31st January 2024, and the contract period spanning from 4th March 2024 to 4th March 2027, with a total value of £91,877 GBP. Site visits and detailed plans can be arranged by contacting tenders@nmrn.org.uk.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in repair and maintenance services to contribute to a high-profile conservation project with national and historic importance. SMEs are particularly encouraged to apply, making this an accessible opportunity for companies looking to expand their portfolio in heritage conservation. By securing this contract, businesses can gain prestige and experience within the public sector, potentially leading to further opportunities. The NMRN is looking for reliable partners who can ensure the structural integrity of HMS Victory while the ship remains open to the public, making this an ideal project for companies experienced in public heritage and long-term maintenance contracts.

## Notice

The aim of the HMS Victory Conservation Project is to deliver a fully-conserved ship, able to survive in an open environment for the next 50 years without major work beyond a programme of planned maintenance. The conservation work includes the replacement of all external and some internal planking in a staged programme; it is intended that the ship remains open to the public throughout the planned work, with visitor routes adapted as necessary. The project began in early 2022. Since 2020, HMS Victory has been supported by 134 bespoke hydraulic props that have provided critical structural stability, thus ensuring her long-term survival. The propping system also plays an integral role in the current conservation works, providing the requisite structural support to enable conservation works whilst representing a key pillar of the structural monitoring regime. The NMRN is seeking to award a 3-year maintenance and support contract - with the option to extend for 2 years - to keep this critical system in operation. Site Visits must be booked in advance, which details of which can be found in the ITT Documentation. A plan for HMS Victory's Support System can be requested by emailing your expression of interest to tenders@nmrn.org.uk.
