The procurement process is at the tender stage, with responses due by 22nd February 2017 at 12:00 noon. The total contract value is set at £700,000, with a minimum value of £500,000. West Midlands Fire and Rescue Authority has thirty-eight fire stations across the region, a HQ building located in Birmingham, Transport Engineering Workshops in Perry Barr and the Command Development Centre in Smethwick. The framework agreement will be split into the following Lots: Lot 1 - Building Works Lot 2 - Mechanical & Electrical (including gas and heating) Works Lot 3 - Plumbing Works Tenderers are invited to bid for all or any of the available lots- It is the preference of the Authority that all the above Lots will be awarded to at least three suppliers per Lot. Reactive works orders would be awarded to the contractor who scored the highest in each lot; if that contractor did not have the capacity to fulfil the order then the second contractor would be approached. Only if the first two contractors declined the work would the third contractor be approached.
