The aim is to commission a translation agency which can provide professional translations of key resources for these areas on the Mayor of London website, to ensure they are fully accessible to those who experience English language barriers. The GLA is now commissioning a legal partner to develop resources relevant to migrant Londoners and their families which will be hosted on a new Migrant Londoners Hub. The hub content will be covering immigration and citizenship matters as well as information on rights and entitlements including to NHS services. New resources will also be created to support new arrivals from Hong Kong, through the Hong Kong British Nationals (Overseas) visa. Priority languages for translation will be identified in partnership with officers at the GLA, as this will vary depending on the resource and the target audience. The purpose of the Employment Rights Hub and Migrant Londoners Hub is to communicate information about social welfare legal rights in a high-level, easy to understand way.
