## Summary

The public procurement process is being conducted by N E L Commissioning Support Unit for the contract titled "Lower Marsh Inspection and Migration." This procurement falls within the services industry category and is taking place in London, England. The contract, valued at £55,900, is in the award stage as of March 25, 2021. The contract period is set to commence on March 29, 2021, and conclude on June 30, 2021. This tender was initiated as a selective procurement through a call-off from a framework agreement, addressing a strategic need related to the investigation of equipment connectivity and functionality at the Lower Marsh datacentre.

This tender presents significant opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the technology and consulting sectors, especially those with expertise in data centre operations and cloud migration strategies. Businesses that specialise in IT services, particularly those adept at workload transformation and data centre consolidation, would be well-suited to compete for this contract. Engaging in this procurement process allows such enterprises to align their services with the broader NEL ICT Transformation programme, potentially securing a valuable partnership with a public organisation.

## Notice

This expenditure relates to the comprehensive investigation of the connectivity and functionality of active equipment installed in the 28 x racks installed at Lower Marsh, Waterloo. This will include the investigation and documentation of equipment type, connectivity, stability, appropriateness and power and cabinet location and connections and support status etc. The task also includes the identification of individual application workloads that can be feasibly migrated across to Primary Datacentre Cody Park or Azure Public Cloud and in doing so identify the right approach, for the right workloads, along with the right commercials. We will initiate a decommissioning and relocation plan as appropriate, along with any required approach for workload transformation. This procurement addresses our strategic requirement to address issues with the consolidation of NEL's data centre estate, of which Lower Marsh is currently a key component. This procurement ensures continuation of services while being fully aligned to the strategic roadmap and the wider NEL ICT Transformation programme.
